That was the title of Ted Turner's film here featuring John Denver at a sit-down lunch for 300 on the old hemp fields at Mt. Vernon. I still joke about this one when folks ask me, "who have you recorded?" I answer that, "I recorded John Denver for Jacques Cousteau at George Washington's for Ted Turner."
It was 89 degrees and 89% humidity and Rover had the only air conditioner on Washington's back 40 on the Potomac River. Consequently Jimmy Buffet and Hoyt Axton stopped by the Rover to get cooled off, while my producer asked me to, "turn it up." Very hot and surreal gig, and a lot of fun. By the way, John Denver was terrific, and what a gracious guy, stopping by the rig and FOH to say thanks to all of the production staff!
